Part of the mission at IS is finding the symbiotic relationship between traditional Western medical intervention and alternative complimentary therapies. In addition, keeping up on current research and and scientific understanding of the body and mind is a key part of responding to the needs of those who seek treatment. There is an emerging science-based understanding of the electrical and energetic workings of the human body and this lends itself to understanding how therapies such as Reiki and sound healing are effective.
The stress and trauma that we undergo during periods of physical illness can affect our lives in so many ways. Pain, frustration, emotional stress, tension, muscle weakness, fear, limited physical mobility, brain fog, changes in routine, and mental distress that come from physical ailments can truly affect the quality of life. Maybe you don’t feel like yourself anymore, experience mood swings, have side effects to medications or can’t seem to heal.
The techniques used may help bring relief for and decrease of symptoms in conditions such as
- bone, joint, and muscle issues;
- Parkinson’s Disease,
- chronic pain, fatigue;
- sports injury,
- injury from a work, home, or car accident;
- hormonal, endocrine, or nervous system illnesses;
- physical symptoms that may accompany mental illness or emotional conditions.
Studies have shown that Reiki and complimentary therapies can contribute to faster healing times after surgery or accidents. PEMF is FDA approved for bone healing. At minimum, many people report feeling more relaxed and/or sense a reduction in pain after receiving Reiki treatments, sound healing, guided meditations. One of the reasons these work so well is that the techniques have a multilevel approach that addresses our whole body – physical, emotional, mental, energetic and even spiritual states while connecting the mind, body and spirit.
Sometimes, people who seek treatment at Into the Spirit will say, “I’ve tried everything else and nothing worked,” and are looking for an alternative. If that is you – why not trying something new? While these techniques are not a replacement for your current medical treatment and may not be described as a cure for any illness, there are no contraindications to any medicines, therapies, or treatments you are receiving.
Please check the specific pages on physical conditions for information on treatments that may help you. As always, please call or email if you have questions.
